Statement Pieces

These are what I call statement necklaces, they go perfectly with a simple dress and they can easily go from formal day wear to evening. All three necklaces are by Gucci.

Statement Pieces

Anyone that knows me knows that I love untraditional pants that speak volumes. I love harem pants I own them in any way possible – formal, casual, shorts, and sweat pants.  Today I laid my eyes on these gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana pants, these pants are what I need this summer. I personally like the pants with the blue print more than the brown one.

Graduation Gifts

I know I have been flooding my blog with graduation gift ideas, but this is the topic that everyone around me has been discussing. So yesterday a friend of mine called me saying that her parents want to get her a watch as a graduation present. She wants it to be classic but she also loves the ceramic with gold look. After so much search, the final options were a Chanel and a Chopard watch.

Graduation Gifts

So graduation is coming up and I know that most people already have some form of a “Graduation Registry”. I feel that in our world today people care more about “Graduation Registry” than a “Wedding Registry” it has become so uncertain when will a person be married, so people prefer to get their gifts earlier. In a previous post I mentioned how a friend of mine couldn’t decide which handbag she wanted her parents to get her as a graduation gift (You can read the post here). Well today I am going to talk about graduation gift ideas for men. This may be the best option if the man you are buying the gift for is a constant traveler. I fell in love with the colors of the travel bags, they are such statement pieces. The orange one is available online, while they yellow bag is from the runway show.

Melissa + Karl Lagerfeld

Melissa was made famous by it’s rubber shoes. It previously had collaborations with many designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Jason Wu. Yesterday they launched their new collection with Karl Lagerfeld.

On their website, Melissa wrote about the collection saying: “In fashion, don’t take anything too seriously. If you follow this piece of advice, you can free yourself up to play with different looks and bring together various references in a fresh way”.

Here are the looks from the collection but my favorite is the one with the ice cream cone.

Trend Report

If you are in the market for a colored pair of pants, then sky blue jeans are the way to go. So far I have seen them at Versace, Diesel, and 7 For All Mankind.

Joggjeans

Yesterday I went shopping and I got these pair of sweatpants. It is a revolutionary new fabric created by Diesel, they have the feel and look of jeans but they are way more comfortable than jeans. I personally hate sweatpants and I believe in Karl Lagerfeld’s quote “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.” But these pants are not sweat pants they are actually jeans, so they get my approval. Here is a picture of the jeans I baught:

Dita Von Teese’s 3D Printed Dress

This dress created by New York designer Michael Schmidt and architect Francis Bitonti is one of the first of its kind. The entire dress was created using 3D printers. The dress is made out of nylon and draped over a nude silk corset. The nylon is so flexible that it acts like a fabric. After hand-linking all the pieces together, the dress was incrusted with 12,000 crystals.

L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace – Mouawad

My jaw dropped when I saw this necklace, mind you I was in the middle of class. So now you can imagine how stupid I looked. Mouawad’s latest creation is The L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace which boasts 637 carats. Thats not all, the necklace has the world’s largest flawless diamond. The 407.48 carats yellow diamond suspends from the white diamond necklace. At this point all we can do is dream. As Mouawad stated ” Befitting of a royal court, L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace leaves nothing to be desired except to grace the neck of a queen or a very special woman that absolutely deserves nothing less.”  Here is a picture and video about the necklace. I thought a picture would not be sufficient.

Shopping for Graduation

A few may know that I will be graduating in 8 weeks. So I am freaking out about what I am going to do with my life, where I am going to end up, and what future steps I should be taking to work towards achieving my goals and dreams. But somedays I try to forget all about these worries and I try to figure out what shopping I need to get done for the events that are taking place then. My parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents are flying in for my graduation. I feel so blessed that they are all coming that’s why I am already excited about it.  When thinking about  the graduation ceremony the first thing that comes to mind  is what would I wear on that day.

A few days ago I went suit window shopping, and my jaw dropped when I saw this suit at Suit Supply. I love the idea that it is a day suit and double breasted. If I would wear it, I would style it differently. I was thinking of wearing it with a knit straight end tie and monks. Tell me what you think about it!

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The reason why I haven’t blogged for the past ten days was because I was on spring break in Punta Cana. The trip in general was amazing and I personally couldn’t have asked for more. We were a group of 10 people trying to get the fullest out of our last spring break before graduation. Our trip wasn’t all perfect though, getting there was a mission. My friends and I were supposed to fly with US Airways from DC to Philadelphia and then take a flight to Punta Cana. Well this didn’t happen, our flight out of DC got delayed, and the lady sitting behind the counter didn’t want to help us or find a solution so she assured us that we should get on the flight to Philadelphia and we would make the flight. We got to Philadelphia the flight had already taken off and the only flight with seats on it would be taking off from Philadelphia is after two days. After arguing for an hour and calling everyone possible, we found a solution, we had to fly from Philadelphia to Fort Lauderdale, drive from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, fly from Miami to Santo Domingo, then drive for three hours to Punta Cana. That’s excluding the trouble we had with locating our bags because the airlines mistagged our luggage. Nevertheless, we all had a great time and here are a few pictures from our trip:
