Chanel – Fall 2013
There is so much happening in Paris in the next two days. Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, and Hermes are showing their collections today. While Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, and Elie Saab are showing their collections tomorrow.

Céline – Fall 2013
Fur has recently made a comeback, we have seen it appear in many collections in London, Milan and now Paris. In this collection Céline showed two coats and a dress made out of fur. I also loved the knotted sleeves used on the dresses and coats. Here are my favorite looks from the collection:

I am apologize for not being able to post yesterday. I was on a flight back from Saudi Arabia to Washington, D.C. I had to take a quick trip to renew my residency there. This collection by Gianfranco Ferré is how Star Wars meets Prêt-à-Porter.

Dolce & Gabbana – Fall 2013
For the past few seasons Dolce & Gabbana have been creating runway shows that celebrate Italy. Their tribute expands all the way from Roman mosaics to Italy of the 20’s & 30’s and all the way to the 60’s fashion. Whenever I watch any of Dolce & Gabbana’s runway shows I can see the typical Italian family who live on a vineyard, that are having dinner and after a few bottles of wine they raise up the music and celebrate the coming together of their family. The highest form of fashion to me is the ability to pay tribute to ones heritage and traditional clothing but translating it to a universal form that transcends every culture, making ever person dream of wearing every article of clothing in the collection. Mary Katrantzou – Fall 2013
In this collection Mary plays with perspective. The prints allow the clothes to be pushed back into space, creating two different visual dimensions: the clothes and the wearer. Being an artist myself I appreciated how Katrantzou incorporated painting techniques into her designs. Here are my favorite looks from the collection:

Wearable Drawings
Elvira ‘t Hart created an avant garde collection that will give the impression that the piece has been drawn or sketched on the wearer. She achieved these looks by laser-cutting leather and attaching it to a white fabric. The first two pictures I have posted show her sketches and how she wanted the garments to look like, the other pictures show the actual collection. Take a look at the collection:

Giambattista Valli – Spring 2013 Couture
In this collection you can notice that some of the designs distort the hips, I love the concept and Idea behind it, but such a design would not appeal to a woman with curves as it will enlarge her figure. Ann Hathaway chose one of his dresses for the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards). Take a look at my favorite pieces from the collection:
