Paris Fashion Week/ Chloé

Today Chloé showed their collection. As you all know I am a sucker for simplicity. Here are my favorite pieces!  The blazer on the first ensemble, the ruffles on the second, and the color and cut of the third. Simple elegance!

Paris Fashion Week/ John Galliano

Looking at the runway pictures, all I could imagine was the following scenario: A French designer, cigarette in hand, has to scramble to create a dress in a few hours for a woman who wants a makeover.  And all he could see was a few yards of cloth in the corner. He takes them, drapes them, and creates a head turning dress. A dress that reminds you of the simplistic origin of clothing, that it is a piece of cloth. Two hours have passed then he says “Voila” and the woman is off to her party in a flawless breath taking simple dress. Thats what I call fashion. I love when the origin of the product is emphasized when creating art pieces. Here are my favorite two pieces:

Paris Fashion Week/ Jean Paul Gaultier

At Gaultier many celebrities were channeled into this collection from Boy George (from Culture Club), to Madonna, to Michael Jackson, and to many others. Was it cohesive? Did Gaultier live up to expectations? These questions will remain unanswered. Nevertheless, here are my favorite pieces out of this collection.

Paris Fashion Week/ Lanvin

Looking at Lanvin’s runway show today reminded me of what French fashion is all about, the ability to create a masterpiece using simple materials and designs. Lanvin’s collection was all about the large shoulder pads and belted waists. Here are my favorite looks!

Paris Fashion Week/ Balmain

Remember the breath taking pieces by Balmain last year, the ones with the unconventional black, white and silver materials? Well this year Balmain capitalized in it, and it looks great! The pictures will speak for themselves.

Paris Fashion Week/ Gareth Pugh

Gareth Pugh may not be big in the fashion world but today’s runway mesmerized me, It was the first time I get to look at his collections. After some research I found that Gareth Pugh is a british designer that currently lives and works in Paris. He has had difficulties with building his brand, only till recent years did he offer his collections, previously they were just considered runway projects. Tell me what you think!

I loved the layering on the white dress, it gives great movement! Also, what I liked with the red outfit was the top, how it moves and the tail such a statement!!

Men’s Accessories

It has been a while since I have discussed men’s clothing and accessories, but today I want to talk about men accessorizing. As watches become more statements pieces, unlike the old days where they needed a watch to tell the time, men started becoming more daring and willingly to wear accessories. Today I want to show you to companies that produce statement bracelets for men- Miansai and STL ShareTheLove bracelets.  Miansai is a known brand and you can purchase their products either online,or through J.Crew, or through Mr. Porter. But STL ShareTheLove is actually a Milan start up company that has been getting some hype in the fashion world, Many  high profile fashion bloggers as well Anna Del Russo and Paolo Stella have been  spotted wearing them. I believe they will be must haves in the few months to come.  STL ShareTheLove bracelets design for both men and women, the mens collection tends to be with a silver chain rather than a gold chain as well as darker threading. Tell me what you think!

Milan Fashion Week/ Gianfranco Ferré

The summery of this fashion show: Architectural. I felt that this fashion show stayed true to Gianfranco Ferré architectural background. I also appreciate how the color pallet was only black and white with slight hints of gold and silver.  Here are my favorite pieces!

Milan Fashion Week/ Dolce & Gabbana

My favorite designers Dolce & Gabbana show cased another spectacular runway show this season. With their baroque collection last year, which caused the fashion world to go head over heels. Dolce & Gabbana always walked on the fine line between being tacky and being high-end clothing, and as always they succeed! They are ingenious artists!  This collection takes everyone back to the time periods that Sicily has gone through starting from the Romans. The Roman prints, The baroque embellishments, the 20’s and 30’s dress and swimwear designs. Only Dolce & Gabbana can have all of that and turn it into something spectacular.

I wish I could upload all 82 different looks but here are my favorites!

Milan Fashion Week /Bally

Eternal chic is what Bally is all about! The cuts and design might be classical or targeted for an older generation, but they are so perfectly cut and shaped that they would turn heads around! Yes! they are the perfect little cocktail dresses women would love to have.

Milan Fashion Week/ Fendi

Dolce & Gabbana, FENDI, and Madonna. (now that we got the song out of the way, let us critique!) I loved the mixtures of colors that Fendi showed today, bold but sophisticated. I also focused on the accessories that were shown in the collection- as a big fan of the Peek-A-Boo bag I loved the combination of blue and beige that was shown today! I hope you Enjoy it! Here are my favorite pieces.

Milan Fashion Week / Blumarine

Blumarine’s collection did not have many bright colors. But in this collection all I could see was the simplicity of the clothing and how it was translated- (The beauty is in the clothing’s simplicity bright colors would have ruined it). I could clearly see what type of customer Blumarine is targeting and the scenarios they imagine their customer to be in. For example from the pictures that I have chosen I definitely see a woman in her thirties spending her summer vacation next to the beach with upscale lunches, dinners, and events to attend every.

Milan Fashion Week/ Etro

The Etro collection was just previewed in Milan, and all I could think about is how good Etro can use prints and incorporate them so easily into their designs. The more I see this year from the runways the more I realize that men and women’s fashion are somehow switching objectives. Women’s clothing is becoming more loose and easily to maneuver in (to attend to the demands of working women), While men’s fashion now tends now to be fitter. Take a look at Etro’s collection and tell me what you think? Here are my favorite pieces.
