Chanel Métiers d’Art – Scotland (Video)

I found the video of the runway show! As I promised here is the video. I hope you like it as much as I did. Also read yesterdays post (here) to know more about this show that is held every year by Chanel.

Chanel Métiers d’Art – Scotland

Remember Chanel’s Indian inspired runway show last year? If not please take a look at my previous post. This year the Chanel runway show took place in Scotland in the ruins of the  Linlithgow Palace. I tried my best to find the video of the runway show but because this happened a few hours ago I couldn’t find anything except some media coverages. I will post the video on the blog as soon as I can find it. But for now we can settle for highlights of the collection. So please look at the photos below and just dream.

Ps. There is one photo below of a man with a child. I wish that is how I will be looking on a typical day 10 to 15 years down the line taking a stroll with my child. Enjoy it and just dream!

Daily Obsessions

Being in the holiday season everyone might be running around purchasing outfits for weddings that are taking place, New Years parties, and Christmas Eve parties as well. I always love outfits that are classic but will allow you to pop out in between everyone. If you are willing to be bold enough, I would go with this velvet tuxedo. Perfect for that New Years and Christmas party you are going to. It is classic, It is amazingly cut, and it pops out.

Daily Obsessions

So today I am going to have two posts in celebration of my 21st birthday. I know, I am getting old… It also manages to be the day where I have to take my graduation photos. It feels like I am in a new stage in my life, flipping the page and hopefully moving to something bigger and better. Thinking about the future I came to a conclusion, now that I am getting older I need to create a wardrobe wish list. This wish list should have sharper day to day outfits, and lucky me I just found the first thing I am going to put on this list. This Kenzo turquoise suit will be the first on my list, it may be an unconventional color, and it may look bad if worn incorrectly but I am ready to take on that challenge. I can imagine myself wearing this suit in the spring sitting in a café in Italy waiting for a fashion show to start. (I might be dreaming way too much, but I go with concept called “dream big”).

Daily Obsessions

Over a year ago Tod’s launched men’s driving shoes in pastel colors, at that time I fell in love with the idea because traditionally men wear leather shoes in black, brown and white therefore they were pushing the envelope. This year Tod’s launched driving shoes for men in neon colors, which are perfect for the summer they give a certain vibe to the outfit. Perfectly worn with blue or white pants cuffed above the ankles. A perfect outfit for long walks on the beach at sunset after a long day of tanning.

Winter Tale – Cartier

I know I have been talking a lot about jewelry for the past few weeks but I can’t help myself admire and appreciate such exquisite pieces. A few days ago Cartier launched an ad campaign called “Winter Tale”, the story revolves around two panther cubs that take us on a journey through a snow covered land as they reveal pieces from Cartier’s collection. The film manages to take you to a different dimension and somehow allows you to dream. In the film the cubs will encounter pieces from both women’s and men’s collections.

Must Have

Brioni, Brioni, oh Brioni can this tuxedo be any more perfect? I think not! This tuxedo is the result of a venture between Brioni and Mr. Porter. Their approach and inspiration to create this tuxedo came from this quote “Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it. Accept nothing nearly right or good enough.” –  Sir Henry Royce (co-founder of Rolls-Royce). I can just imagine the perfect scenario to wear this tuxedo. Imagine yourself at a private event; standing underneath the shadow of a The Eiffel Tower, Or The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Or in a Medieval castle. Scanning your surroundings and just taking in all the beauty of the venue, the event, the people, and the outfits. Then, you just say to yourself “La Dolce Vita!”

My fascination with coats is never endless, it adds mystery to the outfit. Coats are probably the most spoken about by me, because everyday I am reminded of the cold as soon as I walk out of the door. Today I came across this studded cashmere coat by Thom Browne. It is such a statement piece!

James Bond’s Watch

Due to how iconic James Bond is, the watches he wears have brought so much attention over the years. Rolex and Omega have battled over the years for James Bond to be an ambassador to their brand. In the initial movies James Bond appeared wearing the Rolex Submariner. After the year 1995 James Bond switched to Omega and he has been wearing their Omega Seamaster ever since. With Omega launching a new limited edition watch for every movie, this year they launched the Skyfall Omega Seamaster.

Must Haves

After moving to Washington D.C. and having to adjust to the constant alternating weather I found difficulty in picking which pair of shoes I would wear that day. The worst days to decide on picking a pair of shoes would be the rainy days in the middle of summer, I wouldn’t want to destroy my driving shoes but also I want to look good. Therefore I found a solution, they are called Shudy. Shudy is in Italian brand that produces rubber driving shoes and boots, perfect for lousy weather and a great substitute to leather and suede driving shoes. Take a look!

They come in many colors, I personally own a grey pair I love them because the color goes with almost everything.

Daily Obsessions

In the business industry if you want to create a powerful first impression then exceptionally tailored jackets and pants are the way to go. Although recent consumer behavior studies have shown that when talking to the public, wearing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweater creates this relation based on “equality” or “similarity” between consumers and CEOs (examples include Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerburg). Such techniques only work in a few industries, I can’t imagine a person meeting with his clients on Wall St. would even think of wearing a pair of jeans. Going back on track, looking sharp is always a great first impression and if there is a look that I would love to wear everyday it would be like the one below. Knowing how to layer may be difficult but when done correctly it gives the man this je ne sais quoi that makes him look more appealing.

While growing up I rarely saw men wearing bow ties, unless they wore tuxedos. But as time passed and a newer generation emerged which tried to redefine casual suits. Bow ties reappeared and became somewhat of a statement. I embraced this trend about a year ago and now I can never miss a chance where I can wear one. I came across this bow tie by Tiemension which I love! It reads futuristic and sharp but there is one thing about it, it is made out of plastic! It somehow looks like what Darth Vader would wear with his tuxedo!

Today I realized that I haven’t spoken about my search for my new pair of eyeglasses.Well a few weeks ago I had blurry vision and constant headaches. So I decided to go visit an eye doctor and as I expected, he informed me that my vision has changed. That’s where my journey to find a new pair of eyeglasses began. I went to numerous stores to find the perfect pair, I wanted them to be a statement and push boundaries while also being professional! So after a long and extensive search I came across the perfect pair, these unisex red framed eyeglasses by Chanel. I realized the were the perfect balance between being a statement and being professional.
