Daily Obsessions

So now that men’s fashion weeks have started and the streets of the fashion capitals are infested with greek deity figures. Lets present this post to all the men out there. With summer bringing in perfectly tanned bodies, open button down shirts, and endless beach parties; there is something we all have to agree on, there is nothing better than a perfectly accessorized man. With the perfect amount of layering, the man becomes so intriguing to others. Which creates an obsession of wanting to know the story behind this guy. As Evan Yurman puts it “From the beginning of time, man has had a need to adorn himself with things that mean something to him.”

David Yurman launched a new collection inspired by the SouthWest called the Frontier and I am obsessed with it!

Valentine Gifts – Azza Fahmy

Today I just realized that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. For the people in love they might have already started searching for a gift or have already bought a gift. For the single people out there consider this as a day to appreciate yourself and look back at how much change has happened in the past year. Nevertheless, even a single person should go buy themselves a gift. You should declare your love to yourself! This goes to both the single people out there and the couples, nothing feels better than embracing every single moment, feeling present, happy, and grateful for everything.
Well if this year’s Valentine’s Day means you either have to buy yourself a present or for a loved one, here are some options I came across by Azza Fahmy for him and her.

My two most favorite pieces are the key chain and the necklace that turn into two pieces with “مكانك في القلب هو القلب كله” “Your place in my heart is the whole of it” inscribed on it. The quote is by Persian writer Mansur Al-Hallaj.

My other favorite piece is the men’s ring that reads “إن غبت لم ألق إنساناً يؤانسني “When you are far I’m alone in this world.” by Ibn Zaydun.

Other pieces from the collection include a charm bracelet with “يالي شغلت البال ياريت أكون على بالك” ”I wish I was on your mind as much as you are on mine” engraved on it. Words by Egyptian Poet Ahmed Ramy and sung by Umm Kulthumm in 1931

Men’s Bracelets

A few months ago I posted about the new line of enamel bracelets that Hermès has launched targeted towards men. The men’s version has a matte finish compared to the gold or silver as well as the flatted out H, which is different than the women’s bracelets. When I had purchased my bracelet as a graduation gift to myself the only colors available were black, brown, and chestnut. I chose the beige because the color does not restrict you from wearing it as much. But recently Hermès launched new colors and they look amazing. If I would repurchase one I would go with the Canary yellow, burgundy, or the Indian blue. The new colors include Indian Blue, Burgundy, Beige, Canary Yellow, Navy Blue, Black, and Brown. Below is a photo of me wearing it with an Omega bracelet that I received as a graduation gift from friends of mine.

Thank You!

I would like to thank everyone for all the graduation gifts I received. Without mentioning names – you know who you are – I would like to thank you for the gift cards, Coach messenger bag, cards, frames, tie, and watch I received. Two days ago I got this Omega bracelet in orange by two friends of mine.It goes perfectly with the Hermès enamel bracelet also the orange is a perfect pop of color!

Daily Obsessions – Hermès

I recently found out that this year Hermès created a men’s version from their iconic H bracelets. The main difference is that the men’s version is matte rather than it being shiny gold or silver. The black bracelet may be found online but they also carry beige and brown in their stores.

Statement Pieces

A few weeks ago I walked into the Omega boutique in Saudi Arabia and I saw the new Aqua Bracelet by Omega. They bracelets stayed on my mind and a few days ago I decided to go ask about them here at the Washington DC boutique. I love these uni-sex bracelets because they are statements as well as having a classic quality. The Aqua Bracelet comes in two different materials rubber and leather. The majority of the bracelets are made out of rubber. Because of the rubber material the bracelet can be worn at all times.

Inspirations

Thinking of graduation gifts for myself. I was Inspired by Cartier’s lOVE bracelet. I personally love gifts that have sentimental value, also many people currently own the LOVE bracelet, therefore I am on a quest to create my own derivative of the product.I personally do not want the bracelets to look the same. Inspired by how the love bracelet locks by placing two screws on the side (see picture below). The first difference would be placing four locks rather than two (See the sketch below). Furthermore, I would like to carve the names of my parents and siblings onto it using Arabic calligraphy (See examples below).

Wishful thinking – The ability to split the bracelet into four different pieces will give me the opportunity to create pendents out of them, allowing me in the future to gift them to my children as pieces to always carry wear.

Winter Tale – Cartier

I know I have been talking a lot about jewelry for the past few weeks but I can’t help myself admire and appreciate such exquisite pieces. A few days ago Cartier launched an ad campaign called “Winter Tale”, the story revolves around two panther cubs that take us on a journey through a snow covered land as they reveal pieces from Cartier’s collection. The film manages to take you to a different dimension and somehow allows you to dream. In the film the cubs will encounter pieces from both women’s and men’s collections.
