Happy Birthday ZAIDD’OR!

I can’t believe that today marks one year since I started this blog with 275 posts and over 50,400 views. I remember when I started this blog last year I wanted to do something that would get me started in the fashion world no matter how small the project was. I didn’t know if the blog was going to be successful or not, I am even unsure of it as of now. But here I am a year later getting ready to pack my bags and head out to Milan, Italy to study fashion design.  I really hope that I can turn my dreams into reality and I am excited for what the next year has to hide.

Let this birthday resolution be, I will put my best efforts to wards blogging more often and adding creative contents on the blog. All I can ask for this year is a cupcakes and a bottle of champagne to celebrate this year.

Anna Wintour Smiles

Soooo my hiccups are still on since yesterday and they haven’t stopped. I think I should contact a famous DJ and ask them to create a remix of my 30 second hiccup intervals. Well on the bright side I contacted my doctor today and he said my hiccups are caused by the cold that I have and I shouldn’t be worried about it being a side effect from the antibiotics that I have been taking.

Well there is one thing that could make all my hiccups go away, its Anna Wintour smiling at me like she did today with Harper Beckham. If Anna Wintour ever smiles in a runway show of mine I would know I have accomplished something in the fashion world.

I am also seeing a trend with the see-through white material. We have seen it yesterday by Lacoste and today by Victoria Beckham. Here are the 7 looks that I liked most out of her collection.

DAY 363

So today has been one of those annoying sick days, where you stay in bed all day and don’t know where the day goes until you realize its dark outside. Starting last night I cam down with a cold, a special thank you to my mom for passing the cold to me. Well anyways I have had these hiccups that started at around 3 am and they haven’t stopped up until now. I am literally dying, my back cramps with every hiccup. I have tried everything to stop it but no use what so ever. The hiccups have made me lose my sanity. Of course I tried googling “The hiccups song” so I can sing to it and after not finding anything  I chose to sing “You spin me right round, baby.. Right round like a record, baby…Right round round round..” I am of course singing The Dead or Alive version not Flo-Rida’s version. On the bright side today I got to see the sunrise, also I got to hear the people going to work blasting Fayrouz early in  the morning, and I think I got to watch every single TV show I didn’t get to see over the year.

Ok I better stop rambling before I prove myself insane and lose all the people I know……. “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
Zip-A-Dee-A …..” (Ok joking) now back on track. As New York Fashion week is going on and I am stuck in bed, I think I have seen the fashion shows from all point of views. Thanks to Instagram, blogs, and runway pictures and video I have seen the fashion shows from all point of views  whether its from bloggers, fashion designers, brands, celebrities and magazines. OK THE HICCUPS ARE SERIOUSLY GETTING ON MY NERVES, I am starting to sound like Scooby-Doo right now.

Well today I am obsessed with Lacoste’s runway show, I actually liked the men’s clothing more than the women’s to tell you the truth. But here are my 12 favorite looks out of all 49 shown today.

New York Fashion Week

As Fashion Week kicks off in New York and designers preview their collections I am sitting here in Amman with my cup of chamomile tea viewing all the collections.  Meanwhile trying to finish a course introductory book that the university sent me before I leave for Milan.

Back to fashion….. So today many designers previewed and my favorite out of all of them are Robert Rodriguez, ZAC Zac Posen, and Red Valentino. Bellow you will find slideshows made of my favorite looks from each show.

My Projects

My sister and I attacked an accessories store here in Amman or as we call it “Ma7al kharabeesh”. In the store, my sister and I decided that we should start a handicraft project to make bracelets and necklaces that she could use. So me, my sister and mother started choosing colors, beads,  and pendents to use.

About a month ago I spoke about wanting to start a new painting. You can read about it in my previous post here “My Thoughts”.  You will find also a picture of what I have done so far with the painting.

Shourouk

Last November, I came across a new line of Jewelry named Shourouk. Named after her, Shourouk is a Parisian of Tunisian heritage she started her career by working for Chloé, Galliano, Gaultier, Roberto Cavalli and starting this month she launched a limited collection with Swarovski to be sold in their stores. Some of her designs can be found on Net-a-Porter.com. I came across her campaign and I am obsessed, a true inspiration. Her necklaces are what I love most.

Daily Obsessions

I have previously spoken about my obsession with jackets, but today I want to specifically talk about my obsession with leather jackets. To me the best at giving you the biker look is Belstaff. Today I visited their website and I think I put my goals to perspective that I need to be able the biker look as soon as possible. But I doubt I am anywhere near that with the scorching heat that is in The Middle East as well as the weight gain thanks to my mom and grandma and a shout out for their great food that I cant resist. On the other hand I would probably be pacing my kitchen in a few weeks in Milan trying to figure out what I can throw together to make something edible. Well back to Belstaff and the jackets, take a look at it yourself and tell me you wouldn’t want to pull this look. I am specifically obsessed with the look with the model sitting on the floor next to his bike.

Men’s Bracelets

A few months ago I posted about the new line of enamel bracelets that Hermès has launched targeted towards men. The men’s version has a matte finish compared to the gold or silver as well as the flatted out H, which is different than the women’s bracelets. When I had purchased my bracelet as a graduation gift to myself the only colors available were black, brown, and chestnut. I chose the beige because the color does not restrict you from wearing it as much. But recently Hermès launched new colors and they look amazing. If I would repurchase one I would go with the Canary yellow, burgundy, or the Indian blue. The new colors include Indian Blue, Burgundy, Beige, Canary Yellow, Navy Blue, Black, and Brown.  Below is a photo of me wearing it with an Omega bracelet that I received as a graduation gift from friends of mine.

My Cruella de Vil Moment

Now that I finally booked my flight to Milan on the 15th of September. I started thinking of what I should pack to take with me now that the summer is almost over. While browsing some collections online I came across these two fur coats by Tom Ford and my jaw dropped. Yes, I had my Cruella de Vil moment.  I couldn’t choose which fur coat looked better therefore I couldn’t decide which one to post. But I know for a fact that I would love to pull the black fur coat look. I also love the tuxedo underneath the black coat. Don’t get me wrong that I don’t like the brown one but I would probably go with the black one.

To Wear, Or Not To Wear?

I came across these belts by Ermenegildo Zegna and everyday I look at them and wonder if I purchase one how creepy would I look like. Would I be the guy that writes his name on a buckle, or like that has s*x on his buckle, or the guy with the LED scrolling message?  I wonder how stupid would I look with my name starting with Z and wearing a buckle with a Z, or would it be normal?  To wear, or not to wear, that’s the question.

Daily Obsessions

The Soft Ricky bag by Ralph Lauren is the new version from the iconic bag which is named after his wife, as she was the inspiration behind it. The bag can be worn in two different ways, either with the flaps in or out. The iconic bag can be also customized depending on the client’s demands. Here are my favorite colors from the bag:

Maison Martin Margiela X Swarovski

Maison Martin Margiela recently collaborated with Swarovski to create unique pieces that can be worn in many different ways. An integrated clip mechanism enables them to be worn on the hair, clothing, or footwear.  The collection will consist of five different pieces which will include a  pendant, ring, and bracelet.

Once Upon A Time

“Once Upon A Time” is a short 13 minute film created by Karl Lagerfeld which tells the story about Coco Chanel’s start and her inspirations. Although the short film was shown in May I just came across it today and I couldn’t help but watch it a few times before posting it here. In the film there are a few shots that inspire me as well and I have screenshot these moments below. The long neck-collar of the man in his car, the long boots on men, the obscene amount of pearls that can be worn by a woman without looking ridiculous, and the use of unusual material at the time to create custom made clothing.
